BioTechPark Freiburg
The BioTechPark Freiburg offers ideal conditions for innovative start-ups and young companies in the fields of healthcare, in particular biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, microsystems technology and related disciplines.
Thanks to its close connection to the University of Freiburg and the University Medical Centre, the BioTechPark, which was opened in 1998 and expanded in 2001, 2016 and most recently in 2019 in line with demand, is a central component of Baden-Württemberg as a healthcare location.
The BioTechPark Freiburg is supported by the Freiburg Innovation Alliance Foundation, in which science, business and politics work together to sustainably promote knowledge and technology transfer as well as the innovative strength of the region.

Location and accessibility
The economic region of Freiburg, with around 670,000 inhabitants and 380,000 employees, is characterised by its central location in the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland.

BioTechPark Freiburg is located in the northern innovation cluster - surrounded by successful companies and research institutions in the fields of health and life sciences.
The University of Freiburg's Faculty of Natural Sciences and Faculty of Engineering, the University Medical Centre, the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics, the five Fraunhofer Institutes and the Hahn-Schickard Institute for Microanalysis Systems are all located in the immediate vicinity. As a conference centre with modern infrastructure, Messe Freiburg also provides optimal location conditions.
