Möbelschreinerei Wittich: The Freiburg Bächlebrücke
The Wittich cabinetmakers have developed a unique toy with a local connection: the Freiburg Bächlebrücke. Master carpenter Johannes Wittich was inspired by the famous Freiburg brooks and created an innovative product that stimulates the imagination and invites you to play.
The patented invention consists of wedge blocks that are strung on a string. This simple but ingenious design makes it possible to bridge almost 30 different stream widths. The individual blocks are simply formed into an arch and clamped between the banks. Excess parts remain on the string and are not lost.
The Freiburg stream bridge is more than just a toy; it is a piece of Freiburg culture you can touch. With this idea, Möbelschreinerei Wittich proves that innovative products can also be created using traditional craftsmanship.
